Shimmer Overdips
Benefits: No toxic solvents. Ease of use. Trend colour options. Unique subtle effect.
Usage: Paraffin - Use 1% to 5% in over-dip wax for different effects. To achieve the same results batch to batch use the same percentage of shimmer colourant.
Recommendations:
It is essential to dip the candles at the same 165-170F. If the wax is too hot will not get good adhesion to the wax and the colour will appear lighter. Different effects are achieved with different waxes, some typical over-dip blends are listed below.
80% 140F melt paraffin, 20% Microcrystalline wax makes a smoothe over-dip at approximately 165-170F
Other wax blends may be used as well.
IMPORTANT: We highly recommend using a UV Inhibitor in your over-dip wax at 0.2-0.3%
